Itinerary

Day 1Paro - Thimphu

We welcome you to the little Shangrila Kngdom of Bhutan. After one hour drive to Thimphu from Paro International Airport you will enjoy cool air with amazing valley. Once you are at Thimphu you will be checked into assigned hotel.
Once we are done with that we will go out for sightseeing.
First stop for the day will be at National Folk Heritage Museum. You will be amazed to see Bhutanese arts and essential household items that Bhutanese used. There will be display of traditional arts , cultural relics, and artifacts.

One peculiar distinctive culture of Bhutanese is national attires. So, weaving is one of the prominent traditions we can see in Bhutan not just in Thimphu but all over the country. So, The National Textile Museum is our next stop. Here, you will be amzed how weaving is done and how beautifully the dresses are designed.
From there we move to Takin Reserve located at Motithang which is home for Takins. Originally this was small zoo and it was our King who decreed that animal should be free but those Takins never left from this place. Now, they are preserved.
After this we can move to another popular place called BBS Tower where you can see Thimphu town view.

Then we will move down to Centenary Market where locals sell their local products from vegetables to rice. This Marker which was once known as Sunday Market is opened from Monday to Thursday.
After this one we can visit Changlimithang stadium, where most of National and International football/soccer match is organized. Just beside this ground we can watch traditional archery match between locals. Archery is National game of Bhutan.
Last stop for the day is Thimphu Tashi Chhoedzong where you will see Thimphu Fortress where most of the civil offices are located and houses the office of our King.

Day 2Thimphu-Paro

After breakfast we will drive towards Paro from Thimphu which is approximatel. After we reach Paro, we will hike towards Paro Taktsang/ Tiger’s Nest. Paro Taktsang also known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery and the Tiger’s Nest, is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. This will be one to two hour hike from main Paro town. Tiger’s nest us one of the wonders of Bhutan, so sacred and gives your breathtaking landscape view.

After we are done with this hike we will move towards Drukgyal Dzong. Drukgyal Dzong was a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro District, Bhutan. The dzong was probably built by Tenzin Drukdra in 1649 at the behest of Ngawang Namgyal, Zhabdrung Rinpoche, to commemorate victory over an invasion from Tibet. On clear days, you can also see the snowcapped peak of Chomolohari mountain.

Since today is last day for the trip as you will be departing tomorrow, we will also make our last visit to nearby town if you have any shopping to be done. After this we will head to hotel.

Day 3Departure

Today is the last day for you in Bhutan. This is last day of this amazing tour. After breakfast we will checkout from hotel and head towards Paro International Airport. We at Bhutan Getaways wish you safe journey and wish to see you back in Bhutan again in future.
